A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday for the Mauna Loa and Maunakea summits.

National Weather Service forecasters in Honolulu said a “surge of moisture” moving in Thursday night will produce a wintry mix of rain, snow and freezing rain is expected for the summits. Up to two inches of snow could fall.

Forecasters cautioned of hazardous road conditions due to the wintry mix.

“Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving,” forecasters wrote.
